Why you'd want to live in La Vergne
The city of La Vergne is located in Rutherford County. The county was established from parts of Williamson, Davidson and Wilson counties in 1803. The county was named in honor of Griffith Rutherford, a Revolutionary War general and a colonial legislator from North Carolina. He had settled in Middle Tennessee and was also the president of the Council of the Territory of Tennessee before Tennessee became a state. Parks like the Hurricane Creek Recreation Area, Poole Knobs Recreation Area and Willow Creek Vista Point and Picnic Area offer a host of facilities for recreation. Walden Farm, Nashville Shores and Henry Horton State Park are nearby as well. One can also plan a trip to the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, which is a popular site for family vacations. Local churches include the Jefferson Pike Church, Saint Peters Church and First Baptist Church. The community also celebrates the Old Timer’s Day every September. via citytowninfo.com
