Goodlettsville was officially incorporated as a city in 1958. The city was named after Dr. Adam Goodlett. It has remained autonomous since 1963, when Nashville was merged with the government of Davidson County. Goodlettsville provides amenities for several different types of recreational opportunities. One can visit the Old Hickory Lock or the Wave Country Amusement park for a family outing. The Music Valley Wax Museum and the Museum of Beverage Containers & Advertising are popular local spots.
